About us

Two woods you build a foundation out of.

Koa grows slowly in the volcanic soil of Hawai‘i, where I'm from. It's dense and hard, and it's what Native Hawaiians use for everything from canoes to royal artifacts. Koa is a symbol of strength and courage, and it is a main foundation in our culture that is deeply tied to the land and identity of the islands.

Cedar has grown in the highlands of the Levant, where my wife is from, for longer than anyone has been keeping records. Used for grand architecture, ships, and palaces, it is highly durable and has unique features that make it incorruptible. These properties meant the ancient timber could survive for centuries without decaying.

Neither wood was ever chosen for how it looks. Both were chosen because of their strength and their ability to withstand wear or pressure.

That's what we do here. At Koa & Cedar, we focus on the foundation. A loan application, a hiring decision, a forecast, a valuation — every one of them is only as sound as the books underneath it. Get the foundation right, and everything you build on top of it holds.

How it starts

Three steps, about two weeks.

01

Intro call

Thirty minutes. What you sell, how you get paid, what's currently a mess. No charge and no pitch deck.

02

Look at the books

I get read-only access and tell you honestly what shape things are in, what cleanup it needs, and what that costs.

03

First close

We agree on a level and a price, and your first full month closes on schedule. Month-to-month after that.

Get in touch

Tell me where things stand.

Behind on reconciliations, staring down a lender request, or just tired of doing it yourself — all fine starting points.
